+Questions to Answer about a Potential Tattoo+
+Commonly Asked Questions+
+What is it like to get tattooed by me? What is the process like?
To be tattooed by me, all you have to do is first make sure that you like my style and have an idea that fits within it. You can then fill out the form below when my books are open and we will talk about the idea you have and the design if I decide to take it on. Please feel free to be specific and send me inspiration art or or just throw me a few keywords and I'll draw something totally unique and surprising for you! I do not do in person meetings unless it is a very big project we are starting or phone meetings. Only email. Thanks for understanding and valuing my time.
Next we'll schedule an appointment after you pay a deposit to secure your space. You'll see your design the day of your tattoo, not before (see why below) and we'll edit it together if needed or go ahead and begin the tattoo. Remember, your never have to get a tattoo and if you don't like the design and we cannot fix it to a place you like it, all you have lost is a deposit.
+Where are we?+
I’m currently working at a private studio called Pars Fortuna in Marshall, N.C. About 25 minutes from Asheville. The studio is inside of Marshall High Studios. It is a 100 year old high-school that has been converted into artist studios on an island in the French Broad River at 115 Blannahassett Island Rd, Marshall, NC 28753. We are Pars Fortuna Studio, room 103, first door on your LEFT through the LEFT set of entrance doors.
+How to Make an Appointment+
Email is the only way to discuss tattoos with me. I use Instagram, and Facebook to network, but I will not use them to plan a tattoo. Please submit a form that appears below on that day to inquire about a tattoo. It can take up to 3 months for me to return an email due to my wait list. Thank you for your patience.
+Deposits+
A 55$ deposit is required ONLY after I decide to work with you. Please don't send me a deposit if we haven't spoken about, and agreed to, a tattoo idea. I will return it.
+What is the purpose of the deposit?+
The deposit is to ensure that you don’t “no show”, cancel or back out last minute. Time is very valuable. If someone no call, no show’s or backs out last minute I will keep the deposit to compensate for time lost. I usually book three months in advance and the deposit safe-guards me from a total loss should someone flake last-minute. Deposits are non-refundable. Please email and/or call the shop (828-215-5754) to give at least 48-hours notice of your reschedule/cancellation to transfer the deposit to a new appointment date. Your deposit is good for one year. If you need to reschedule after that you will have to leave another deposit.
+Do I have to leave a deposit before I see the design?+
Yes. You must leave a deposit to secure an appointment. Many hours can go into the conceptualizing and designing of a tattoo and emailing/scheduling. If for any reason you cannot get the tattoo or decide to back out, the deposit pays for time spent on the process.
+When will I be able to see the design?+
I will have a drawing ready for you the day of the appointment or I will draw it at the appointment depending on the tattoo. Do not ask me to see the design before hand, I do not draw all my designs far ahead of time. I will not do it for extra money, it does not work for me.
+What if I don’t like the design?+
If you would like to make changes to the design, I will work with you as much as I can. If there are significant changes to be made and I feel like I need more time to work on the design, we may need to reschedule. It is important not to rush or settle for something mediocre. If we can't agree on a design you don't have to get the tattoo. However, I will keep the deposit to compensate for the time spent drawing and the time slot in my schedule.
+Can I bring a friend, child or pet?+
The shop is very small with limited space. And please, NO children or dogs unless it is a service animal.
+How do I Reschedule?+
You must contact me two days before hand to not lose your deposit. If you want to reschedule I need at least that much notice to fill your spot. This means if you attempt reschedule day of (except in the case of COVID or illness related issues), I will need you to make a new deposit if you want a new appointment due to my lost income.
+What if I am running late?+
If you are running late please call the shop at (828) 215-5754 to give me a heads up. If you are more than 15 minutes late we will have to reschedule you. If I haven't heard from you I will assume you are not showing up. If you would like to reschedule I will need another deposit to book another appointment. Please remember that no call/no shows are taken very seriously and you may be declined future services.
+Will it hurt?+
Yes. There are things that you should consider before your session to help with pain.
-Make sure you do not drink a lot of alcohol the night before. If you come in hungover your body has way less tolerance for pain and you will get tired quickly.
-Get a good nights rest.
-Eat a meal with plenty of protein an hour before your session.
-If you are sitting for more than 2 hours It is a good idea to bring some kind of protein bar or snack and electrolytes/water to re-fuel yourself mid tattoo.
-Wear clothing you will be comfortable in and that is easy to put on again after your tattoo if necessary.
+Pricing and Payment+
Each tattoo will be priced by the piece. Larger tattoos are 175$ per hour. I will let you know the price for your requested piece, but it will be no less than 200$. Some pieces are not priced on the hour if they are on an especially challenging area of the body. If my prices don't work for you, that is totally ok. You can always decline an appointment after I quote you. Do not haggle prices of tattoos or I will refuse your business. You may pay with cash or a card with a fee.

+Questions to Answer about a Potential Tattoo+
- What do you want tattooed? Send me pictures! I specialize in plants, medieval imagery, woodcuts and scientific illustration. Please be very clear about what subjects you want. While I am excited to hold space for you in this often spiritual exchange, I need a fully fledged subject matter of what I am being asked to tattoo to determine whether we can work together or not. Thank you.
- Where would you like it on your body?
- How big would you like it?
- What is your budget?
- Have you had a tattoo before?
- Have you had a bad reaction to a tattoo before?
- Do you have any medical conditions that would make a tattoo a challenge?
